QUICK! PULL
THE LADDER UP!
Bill Gates
is reported to be worth $79 Billion; his 7 bedroom 6 fire place and 24 bath
house is reported to be worth $123 Million. He and wife Melinda have given over
$28 Billion to charitable causes.
Gates has
recently been critical of capitalism to solve one of his major concerns: Climate
Change. Inefficiencies and lack of profit incentive within the private sector
are his primary supporting evidence. Government, via increased taxes, is Gates’
solution to solving the Climate Change problem. He is joined in this position
by fellow billionaires, Warren Buffet and George Soros.
Perhaps Mr.
Gates failed to consider that at the national governmental level the only
profit making agency is the IRS who interestingly receives a major portion of
their “profit” from the private sector! Government inefficiencies are legend,
whistleblowers have long reported the problem, Congress, and many in the media
have continuously spotlighted the well-known, yet annually accepted
inefficiencies. Office seekers seem to always run on the promise to fix the
problems that government created, usually by increased funding and more
government workers. What a vicious circle!
Ink is
barely dry on the several articles and books that have recently been written
that reveal the dismal failure of several start-up companies that were awarded
government contracts for Climate Change solutions. In several cases the
contracts were awarded as recognition of past political support. As Oklahomans
say, “That is flat wrong!”
Maybe, just maybe,
the trio of billionaires mentioned in this letter feels there is no more room
at the top of the capitalism ladder of success.
