Wal-Mart Analysis (Based on observations only) Part 1
A score of scholarly works have been completed on the economic, social, and even political impact a Wal-Mart store has on a city or community. You Tube is loaded with photos of Wal-Mart shoppers.
This Post is an attempt to draw some unscientific conclusions from my observations of shoppers in OK,IN,MO, and IL. Please note the use of the correct term "SO" to refer to the Significant Other in the shopping team.
1. The larger SO of a couple team usually pushes the cart and directs which items to pick up and place in the cart.
2. Teenage girls usually wear shorter shorts with Mom than when they are with Dad.
3. The youngest kid who is walking gets picked on the most.
4. Mothers shopping without a male SO talk louder to accompanying children than when the male SO is around.
5. Women on mobile shopping units have a sense of power and absolute domination they do not posses elsewhere.
6. The older a male is the more looking around and less time shopping.
7. The older women use lists and read the labels. Very fit females who are younger do the same.
8. Males buy more snack food than women. Especially, ice cream and soft drinks.
9. Well endowed teenage girls and young women will walk a bit different if they know males are watching.
10. Young couples who appear to be married or living together use "What do you like?" several times while shopping.

Had # 3 On My Mind Today V 2.0
I guess I'll always have cinders in my blood and steam in my lungs. Trains are a part of my past and a continual part of my memory. I love them.
As a boy growing up near McKinney, KY the railroad was less than 150 feet from my grandparents small house. Back then there was an almost constant stream of freight and passenger trains that regularly ran past that small four-room house and small town.
Freight trains would go onto a siding to let passenger trains go flying by. The passenger trains were so regular, the locals could tell the time of day by the train schedule.
At 3pm each day a passenger train would go past. The locals would say "there goes #3."
As the train flew past, the ground would shake and smoke and steam would come belching out. The person standing next to you could not hear you speak. The engineer would wave and pull down on that steam whistle as if to say "all is well." The # 3 never stopped at the depot in McKinney. It did stop at Moreland just 8 miles away.
The memories of the great smell of creosote soaked rail ties and the fire box smoke and boiler steam mixed in a manner I have never experienced anywhere but along the tracks near my grandparent's house. Was I lucky guy or what? The future was bright then and problems few.
I'll never forget # 3 and those wonderful childhood days.

Scottsburg 1958 and Sao Paulo 2014
THE THRILL OF VICTORY AND THE AGONY OF DEFEAT !!!!!
Up Front: I have only played in a half dozen soccer games while in the USAF. It is the hardest sport I have ever played----no rest and running all the time.
I have watched three grand kids play the game and I got tired just watching them play.
The humiliating and tearful loss of Brazil to Germany in the World Cup brought back memories of the Shawe defeat of Scottsburg in the 1958 Sectional at Scottsburg,

OUR DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE----FREEDOM STILL RINGS-
TYRANTS CANNOT CAPTURE IT
JUDGES CANNOT IGNORE IT
POLITICIANS CANNOT CHANGE IT
TEACHERS CANNOT FORGET IT
IN DARKEST TIMES WE TRUST IT
OUR CITIZENS CAN LIVE BY IT
YOUTH BUILD DREAMS UPON IT
OUR HISTORY DEFINED BY IT
OUR BEST DIED DEFENDING IT
POLS MAY TRY TO SUSPEND IT
HISTORY WILL VINDICATE IT
PEOPLE WILL REDISCOVER IT

TWO REAL DOCTOR HORROR STORIES---You Can Get A Bad Doctor !
THE FOLLOWING DOCTOR STORIES ARE VERY TRUE, SAD BUT TRUE:
1. I was sitting in a large heart surgery waiting room with a family of the church I was pastoring in northern OK. Approximately 40 people were in the room. A doctor with mask and scrubs come in and asks a family near me,
"Do you folks know a good surgeon I might call to assist me? My other surgeon has not arrived and I cannot contact him! I cannot start your family member's surgery until another surgeon arrives."
The doctor and the family went outside the waiting room to continue their discussion.
I am not a violent person; however, I wanted to hit that dumb doctor!
2. My wife was hospitalized for several days with a very serious condition. I tried several times to get her main doctor to share with me his prognosis of her condition.
He sent me a message through his hospital office staff that I would have to schedule an appointment for which I would be charged. I reluctantly scheduled the appointment and went to his hospital office and he came to the receptionist desk and asked me to follow him.
I did and we entered the main waiting room of the hospital were he discussed my wife's serious condition with me and about 25 other very quiet listeners!
Yes, I did get billed.
