GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

TONIGHT I MET WITH ONE OF MY GRAND DAUGHTER'S TEACHERS. I ASKED HER HOW OLD HER DAD WAS AND SHE SAID 56 YEARS OLD. I REMARKED I  WAS MUCH OLDER AND WE BOTH FORCED A POLITE LAUGH.

LATER, AS I OFTEN DO, I WATCHED AND LISTENED ON YOU TUBE TO SOME OF THE GREATEST SOUTHERN GOSPEL SINGERS I WAS PRIVILEGED TO HEAR AND SEE DURING MY LIFETIME.

MANY ARE GONE: JIMMY BLACKWOOD, HOVIE LISTER, JAKE HESS, KENNY HINSON, BROCK AND BEN SPEERS, HOWARD, RUSTY AND SISTER VESTAL GOODMAN, J.D. SUMNER, ROGER BENETT, GEORGE YOUNCE, GLEN PAYNE, JIM HAMELL, ELDRIDGE FOX, DANNY GAITHER----I COULD GO ON FOR SEVERAL MORE PAGES. THEY ARE GONE---BUT I SHALL EVER REMEBER THEM.

I GUESS I CAN CONNECT MANY OF THE DOTS IN MY LIFE BY THE GREAT SOUTHERN GOSPEL SINGERS AND THEIR SONGS.

HOW FORTUNATE AND BLESSED I WAS TO HEAR AND SEE THESE GAINTS OF THE FAITH.
