Our Black & White TV Shows---Westerns

I HAVE USED THE INTERNET TO REFRESH MY MEMORY. HOWEVER, I DO RECALL WATCHING EACH OF THESE SHOWS.

Westerns:  The good guys always won, very little blood and guts, where never was heard a cuss word, and beds were just to sleep in.

1. Rawhide: We watched Clint Eastwood be discovered.

2. Gunsmoke: Maybe the best western series of all time. I still like to watch the reruns.

3. Wagon Train: Ward Bond never got the credit he deserved.

4. Sgt Preston of the Yukon: Not exactly a Western; but I had to put it somewhere. King was one smart hound.

5. Cisco Kid: Political correctness would never permit this show on TV today.

6. Jim Bowie: A real cut up (get it?).

7. Maverick: James Garner is from Norman, OK. Funny then; funny now

8. Wyatt Earp: Always seemed to smooth for me.

9. Have Gun Will Travel: Twilight Zone with spurs. Weird at times.

10. Rifleman: Chuck Conners once played for the LA Dodgers. Show was always predictable.

11. Cheyenne: Hollywood should apologize to America. Clint Walker was not the best.

12. Wells Fargo Days: Lots of new characters each show

13. Sky King: Had to put it somewhere. Niece Penny was fun to watch. Cowboys and airplanes don't mix.

14. Annie Oakley:  This woman could be used today on any police force.

15. Gene Autry:  Born in Texas, grew up in OK.

16. Roy Rogers: Maybe the best singing cowboy of all time.
